I’m just getting settled back in to my place in Victoria and it’s almost time to go again. I’ve only been back for a week and now I leave for Maui on Sunday for a three week training camp under the hot Hawaiian sun. I know, it’s a rough life but someone has to do it. I can’t wait to swim outdoors, wear shorts, and just be warm again. It will definitely be a nice change after spending the holidays back in Ontario where it was a bit chilly. I got to spend a full 2 weeks with my family which was awesome. It always goes by too fast but it was great to see everyone again.
Kelly and I flew back to Victoria on January 1st. We were lucky to get a complimentary upgrade when we checked in so we were living the life for five hours. That soon came to an end when we arrived back home to a bit of a mess. Well, a big mess. There was stuff everywhere! We basically had what seemed like hundreds of grocery bags and garbage bags filled with all of our stuff from the stellar packing job we did in Vancouver. It took a while to sort through everything, but after doing some serious organizing and throwing a lot of stuff out the place is looking pretty good. It’s a lot more homey now too that Kelly has done some finishing touches.
Training has been going really well. Just rolling along and feeling strong. My fitness is pretty good for this time of year so I’m looking forward to a solid camp in Maui. In preparation for the camp Joel thought it would be a good idea to get a bike fit done so this afternoon I got one using the new Retul technology. We made some big changes to my position so I’m looking forward to testing it out.
